Godfrey-Payton is a fully independent private partnership of Chartered Surveyors, with deep roots firmly planted in the Midlands. Our journey began with three distinct companies, each contributing to the rich tapestry of our heritage. The first, Walter P Evans and Company, established in Coventry by Robert Evans (father of the celebrated novelist George Eliot), served as the original agent to the Fitzroy Newdigate Estates in Nuneaton. Our Coventry office, steeped in this history, reflects the legacy of this pioneering firm.

Secondly, H.G. Godfrey-Payton and Co, appointed as agents to the Earls of Warwick at Warwick Castle, laid the groundwork for our enduring presence in the town. Since 1918, our Warwick office has stood at 25 High Street, a beacon of professionalism and expertise within the community. Finally, Greville-Heygate and Company, originating in Market Harborough, managed a diverse portfolio of estates across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, broadening our reach and expertise across the region.

Evolution and Expansion

Over time, the name evolved to reflect the combined strength and heritage of these companies, coalescing into the multi-disciplinary firm we are today. While our roots remain firmly planted in rural estate management, we have seamlessly expanded our services to encompass all property areas, including commercial and residential.
